You wouldn’t know it to look at this gorgeous face, but 7 year old Cavalier Toby is a medical miracle – given 3 months to live about 2 years ago, he is thankfully still with us but needs several doses of medication per day, which can sometimes be tricky for his family! Luckily he has great company in 12 year old Shih-Tzu x Maltese Bella and the occasional helping hand from Sunset Hounds!

1 year old Weimaraner Leo loves his 3 x weekly walks along the Dromana foreshore. In all sorts of weather, Leo loves sniffing out treasures in the sand and snuffling in pockets for a treat when he thinks he has been a good boy! However poor Leo has an injury and is headed to surgery this week – we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and look forward to getting back to our walks soon!

Gorgeous bundle of fluff Peppa spent her recent visit to Sunset Hounds making friends and stealing hearts! The 9 month old Moodle (Malteze x Poodle) was a big hit with humans and pups alike – walking, playing, sneaking on beds and snoozing when required.

Senior statesman Lewis is a 15 year old Beagle who loves a wander in the sunshine. Spring is certainly showing up in all its glory around Lewis’ neighbourhood…

One year old Labrador Pixie was one of our recent school holiday visitors, coming for a stay whilst her family was away. She loved her walks and had a massive smile on her face when out and about…and a peaceful look during her well-earned naps!

Elderly gentlemen Jerry is a Jack Russell who sadly lost his companion dog Aria earlier this year. So our very own Boots comes along on his walks during the week for a bit of company. She gets him moving faster and walking further than he is usually inclined when by himself…however, as they are both in their mid-teens, it is much more a leisurely stroll than a brisk walk!

Labrador puppy Huxley has been a repeat visitor to Sunset Hounds over the past few months, and is growing more gorgeous every day. A bundle of exuberance and energy, he loves the toy box and a good walk, but is equally a fan of a cuddle on the couch.

Muscles are certainly required when taking Vizsla Hugo and puppy French Mastiff Bronx out for their weekly walks – particularly if these gentle giants spot the ducks! Older brother Duke doesn’t come for a walk, but always comes out for a pat and to send us off on our way.

Westie puppy Angus is a gorgeous boy who looks like butter wouldn’t melt…however he’s a bit of a terror when left alone! We recently helped his folks have a well-earned outing without having to worry about their fur baby by doing some dog minding….and he was a perfect angel.

Beautiful Border Collie puppy Bailey is a weekly visitor to Sunset Hounds, popping in for day care whilst her mum is at work. She loves playing with the other dogs and going for walks along the Rosebud foreshore. She is never too keen to have a nap, however!
